'We're all in a state of shock'

TERRELL, Texas (AP) A man accused of killing his mother, aunt and three other people before police arrested him wholesale jerseys early Tuesday following a high speed chase has a long criminal history that includes a conviction for assaulting a family member.

Court records don't indicate which family member Charles Everett Brownlow Jr. was convicted of assaulting in 2011. But they show that two years earlier, he was sentenced to three years in prison for being a felon in possession of a firearm, and that he was paroled after seven months.

Police haven't disclosed the preliminary charges against Brownlow, but they said he is suspected in all five killings Monday night in Terrell, a rural community about 30 miles east of Dallas. Investigators spent the night going from one grisly crime scene to the next until an officer spotted the suspect running from a local convenience store to his car and sped after him.

"We're all in a state of shock," police Chief Jody Law said at a news conference hours after Brownlow's arrest. "You have a tendency to think, 'How can that happen here?' This is a country community, a rural community, people are real close. This is going to be, it's going to have a really big impact on us."

Brownlow's brother, Terrence Walker, told The Associated Press that the 36 year old Brownlow struggled with drug addiction and lived with their mother, Mary Brownlow. His brother's criminal record, which dates back to 1995, also includes convictions for drug possession and burglary.

Walker said his brother "always wanted to take something that wasn't his," and that their mother put up with it.

"I was hoping my mom would open her eyes and realize that she needed to let him grow up, put him out," said Walker, who said an aunt was among the other victims. Walker said his own family spent the night at a hotel instead of their home in Forney, and that he was armed with a pistol in case his brother came after him. Monday when a woman was gunned down at a Terrell home.

About 30 minutes later, fire units responded to the blaze at Mary Brownlow's house a few blocks away. When the fire was extinguished, crews found a woman's body in the smoldering wreckage. Lay said it was clearly arson. The child was released to relatives, Lay said.

At this point a description of the stolen vehicle the suspect was believed to be driving was released to officers and, just minutes later, an off duty police officer saw that vehicle parked outside the convenience store. As the officer called in the sighting, the suspect ran from the store, jumped in the vehicle and sped away, Lay said.

A high speed police chase ensued. The suspect wrecked the car and took off on foot into thick woods, dropping a holster or handgun on the way, the chief said.

A police helicopter and dogs were summoned to assist in the manhunt, and the cheap nfl jerseys suspect was found hiding in a creek.

The fifth victim, a male clerk, was found slain at the store.

The store's owner, Ali Karimi, said the slain clerk was a model employee and "beautiful young man" who leaves behind a 1 year old son.

"We're still in the process of putting this massive investigation together," Lay said. "We're still making sure that surviving family members are appropriately notified."

Taking Advantage Of eBay's Trading Range

Why have a garage sale when you can get rid of all that unwanted stuff on eBay (NASDAQ:EBAY)? The website auctions or retails almost anything that isn illegal or offensive and was the foundation of the company. However, eBay has many other businesses now.

At the October 20, 2011 Q3 conference call, current CEO John J. Donahoe said the quarter had been strong. He also said he saw significant global growth opportunities on the horizon, with good momentum from eBay company PayPal and exciting opportunities from eBay recent acquisition GSI Commerce. Mobile phone and tablet sales on eBay and the other sites are also growing nicely, he said.

PayPal enables its customers to pay and get paid online. Affiliate credit and debit cards are also marketed to PayPal Johnny Manziel Jersey and eBay users. Though there are many other online money transfer systems, PayPal is global, reliable, and extremely popular. eBay gets a 5 to 15 percent commission on each sale, without providing storage, shipping, or handling. However, Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) sells used books and entertainment too, so the question is whether the market is big enough for both companies.

eBay Stub Hub company markets tickets to concerts and other sold out events. Again, eBay does little besides hosting, but takes a 10 percent commission from the buyer and 10 to15 percent from the seller. Bene Benwikere Jersey Craigslist also resells tickets, without commissions, but also without the eBay/StubHub guarantee. Live Nation Entertainment (NYSE:LYV) resells tickets too, through a subsidiary.

eBay has a virtual monopoly on English language online auctions. The site hosts sellers cleaning out their attics, as well as online stores selling antiques, crafts, electronics, and more.

In June 2011, eBay finalized its acquisition of GSI Commerce, a company with expertise in online Johnny Manziel XL Jersey commerce and interactive marketing. The deal should strengthen eBay position in ecommerce and help it compete with Amazon. Before the merger, GSI clients already included big names like Adidas, HP (NYSE:HPQ), and the National Football League Among eBay auction competitors, Mercado Libre (NASDAQ:MELI) is a Latin American auction site. EBAY owns 18.37 percent of Mercado Libre (pdf), and considers it a partner. In China, Baidu (NASDAQ:BIDU) is serious competition for eBay, as it operates a popular ecommerce platform, and offers search and marketing.

eBay appears to have successfully transitioned away from its legacy auction format, as the company has put a new emphasis on fixed prices instead of auctions, which results in quickened sales.

eBay stock price has been stuck in a trading range between $27 and $35 over the last year as shown below:

An investor might consider entering a Bull Put Credit Spread for eBay with the short strike located at or below eBay previous support level of $27. A Bull Put Credit Spread is a neutral to bullish position and may be entered by selling a first put option and purchasing a second further out of the money put option. If the put options expire worthless, then the initial credit is retained as profit.

Using PowerOptions tools, a Bull Put Credit Spread was found with a potential return of 10.5% and a time frame for realizing the potential profit of 32 days. The specific put option to sell is the 2012 Feb 27 at $0.36 and the put option to purchase is the 2012 Feb 25 at $0.17. The position may be entered with a limit order and a net credit of $0.19. If eBay stock price drops to around $28.50, an investor should consider exiting or rolling the position. The profit/loss graph for the Bull Put Credit spread is shown below:

Large companies, like eBay, with their stock stuck in a trading range often provide opportunities for potentially generating profit via execution of spread trades.

2014-Aug-22 20:21 - Rock Cats owner breaks

Rock Cats owner breaks promise made when team was bought

In the long history of the Eastern League, eleven cities in Connecticut and Massachusetts have been the home of a Double A baseball team. All have one common bond. Failure. New Haven, Norwich, Waterbury, Holyoke, Lynn and Springfield, among others, saw teams flee or fold.

New Britain was the exception. The Rock Cats, thanks to a beautiful stadium, convenient location and strong ownership, did what the others couldn Endure. And it wasn just a regional triumph. By all accounts they were among the most successful minor league baseball franchises in the nation.

So why, exactly, would a new Rock Cats ownership group, led by Josh Solomon, want to break up a formula that, on the surface, has worked so well? Why move a prosperous franchise 13 miles north to a city with a less than stellar track record with pro sports franchises?

To maximize financial opportunity, of course, even if it means revealing yourself as a bit of a fraud.

Solomon and his siblings purchased the club from Bill Dowling two years ago under the belief that the team would remain in New Britain. According to a Hartford Courant story in 2012 detailing the transaction, Dowling an assurance that the team would remain in New Britain beyond the expiration of the current lease in 2015 before selling to Solomon group.

is an ideal location, Solomon told the Courant in 2012. absolutely committed to New Britain.

been there 20 years and satisfied all the obligations of our lease, Solomon said. ability to bring baseball to the capital city was an opportunity we couldn pass up.

New Trai Turner Womens Jersey ownership, almost immediately after purchasing the club, began searching for alternatives to New Britain. Hartford Mayor Pedro Segarra said his office became aware the Rock Cats were searching for a new venue about 18 months ago. Solomon on Wednesday confirmed his investment group explored locations inside and outside of the state.

made it clear from the beginning that (returning) to New Britain was not an option, Segarra said. seeking to maximize opportunities by being situated in a city such as ours or another city that has the data to support the growth of the entity. Segarra opening statement during Wednesday press conference indicated the franchise would have fled the state if Hartford passed. Solomon avoided answering Springfield questions.

really can answer that question, Solomon said. we don have to address that issue because we going to be in Hartford Authentic Tre Boston Jersey for the 2016 season.

Hartford, using no state funds, will build a $60 million stadium at 1214 Main St., not far from the XL Center. The new park will have 10,000 seats, about 4,000 more than New Britain Stadium listed seating capacity. Rent is higher, a jump from $110,000 Trai Turner Kids Jersey annually to $500,000. But the location provides benefits, namely better access to the business community. A vibrant downtown location makes it easier to lock local corporations into those expensive luxury suites for the long term.

If there are red flags, they can be raised over Hartford ability to make this Tre Boston Youth Jersey work. Parking needs to be ample and affordable; traffic needs to be smooth; much construction needs to be done in a short time.

Still, it hard not to agree Hartford baseball will be a success.

Meanwhile, New Britain is left holding the bag. Mayor Erin Stewart maintains she was blindsided by the events of the past few days, and had yet to speak with Rock Cats ownership or Segarra as of Wednesday afternoon. The city is on its own to find a new tenant for its perfectly functional 18 year old ballpark, an endeavor that could prove difficult. Double and Triple A replacements are off limits. The short season New York Penn League is the lone Class A league that doesn present logistical nightmares. Independent teams are another possibility, but what ownership group would gamble on a competition with Hartford just 13 miles away?

Rival minor league franchises in Norwich, which houses a struggling NYP team, and the independent Bridgeport Bluefish, weren much competition. The Rock Cats, in essence, were Connecticut minor league team and the public is sympathetic. Just check Twitter or other online message boards, where much of the reaction ranges from confusion to skepticism to outright anger.

2014-Aug-22 20:21 - Owens joins Tennessee

Owens joins Tennessee basketball Vols

The 6 foot 10 forward from Maryland had just been granted a release from his National Letter of Intent at Ohio late last month when Tennessee, needing to replenish Kony Ealy Jersey a depleted roster and booster a thin frontcourt, called with interest.

On Wednesday, it was Owens making the call to sign with the Volunteers and new coach Donnie Tyndall.

"After I got my release from Ohio, my dad told me that Tennessee had called about me," Owens said by phone Wednesday afternoon. "Pretty much that's how it all started. Tennessee had called, and I started talking to the coaches, learning about the school and set up a visit.

"I knew a little bit [about Tennessee] as far as I follow basketball," he added. "As far the situation with their bigs, they had some declare for the draft, some graduated, so I knew they would have a shortage for my position going in. When they first called, I had already knew that they had to shore up the position, but I didn't know that they would be calling me."

Owens, out of Mt. Zion Prep School in Baltimore by way of St. Vincent Pallotti High School in Laurel, is the eighth player to sign with the Vols since Tyndall's hire exactly one month ago.

With Darius Thompson's decision late Tuesday to transfer to Virginia, Owens will take Tennessee's final available scholarship slot for the upcoming season, though rising senior Rawane "Pops" Ndiaye right now one of five returning players from the Vols' Sweet 16 team may decide to leave the program and thus open up another spot.

Tyndall is hoping for an answer from the 6 foot 10 center sometime in the next week.

As Kelvin Benjamin Jersey for Owens, the No.

"I'm glad this process is over," he said. "It was a hard process. It was hard to make this decision from the schools that I had and picking between the schools, but I feel like I made the right decision."

With his options Kony Ealy Womens Jersey open again, Owens said he was focused on Tennessee, Temple, Seton Hall and UT Martin, and he visited the Vols late last week.

"Tennessee was a good fit," he said. "I like the coaching staff. I got a good vibe with the coaching staff when I was there. We went around, viewed the campus and it was a sweet campus. I enjoyed the campus while I was there. I just left like it would be a good fit.

"Coach Tyndall, he's real cool. He's a straight shooter. He keeps it real, so I know that playing for him, I'll be able to do some big things as long as I listen and buy into his system."

Owens, rated as a four star prospect by Scout entering this season, will join Florida Gulf Coast transfer Eric McKnight, Hargrave Military Academy's Jabari McGhee and former Southern Mississippi signee Willie Kelvin Benjamin Kids Jersey Carmichael as Tennessee's incoming post players.

"Tariq is a very long, athletic and versatile post player," Tyndall said in Tennessee's release. "For a guy his size, he has a really impressive skill level. He can step out and make 15 to 18 footers, and he certainly has the potential to impact the game at the defensive end early in his career."

The 210 pound Owens will need to add weight and develop more of an offensive game, but he certainly fits the bill of a prospect with upside.

"The things I do best are definitely defensively," he said. "I like playing defense. It's fun blocking shots, rebounding and running the floor. The things I work on are ballhandling and little things like that to just become more offensive minded.

"Their style of play, it fits me well. They get up and down the court and press. Coach Tyndall said they press, fall back and pressures the offense on D. It sounds like the type of system I want to play in.

High bail for two men charged in Manchester home invasion

MANCHESTER Bail was set at $100,000 cash/surety Wednesday in 9th Circuit Court District Division Manchester for two men charged in connection with a home invasion on Belmont Street Tuesday morning in which one of the residents sustained a graze wound to the neck.

Police prosecutor Sgt. Stephen Reardon said both Jason Kenyon, 32, of 22 Pinyon Place, Derry, and Jason Candelario, 25, of 78 Young St., have extensive criminal records and Candelario is currently on parole on robbery convictions.

Court documents show police responded to the reported home invasion at 499 Belmont St.

Luan Santos, 23, told police he had just arrived, to meet up with Ilias Kostopoulos, 23, when the home invasion began. Kostopoulos, who told police he recognized Kenyon, said when he saw Kenyon had a gun, he backed up and closed and locked the slider, but Kenyon fired at it and he and the man later identified as Candelario burst into the residence. Kostopoulos said Kenyon grabbed him and said, me everything, you got drugs, you got money, give me everything.

Kostopoulos told police that Candalario then grabbed the back of his neck and, using a pressure point, caused Kostopoulos knees to buckle and he fell to the floor, where Candalario pushed his face into the ground and told him: don you understand? Give me your money.

John Kostopoulos, 18, who told police he fired a couple of shots into the floor and a cabinet when he saw what was happening to his brother, said he was turning as a bullet fired by Kenyon grazed his neck, causing what police described as a six inch long wound. The younger Kostopoulos said he went back upstairs and locked his bedroom door.

Ilias Kostopoulos told police that when he tripped on a Ronald Powell Youth Jersey rug and fell to the floor, the intruders must have thought he been shot, because they took off.

Police were able to locate the suspects thanks to the identification provided by Kostopoulos and information from a man driving past who saw Kenyon and Candelario fleeing, after which he followed them. The pair disappeared briefly behind a house on Laurel Street, the man told police, after which they reappeared in tank tops and jeans, no longer wearing their sweatshirts, and without the backpack Kenyon had been carrying.

According to the documents, police found the backpack and a gun concealed behind a Dumpster, and another handgun under it, behind the Laurel Street residence where the two men had emerged.

When Kenyon was caught and searched on Old Falls Road, police said he had two wallets in his possession, his and another that belonged to Ilias Kostopoulos. He also had Kostopoulos cell phone. Candelario, who was carrying a dark sweatshirt, was caught a short time later on Belmont Street, after being shot with a Taser.

Kenyon, who has a pending charge in another jurisdiction, was arraigned on seven felony charges: first degree assault, armed robbery, Tavon Rooks Womens Jersey burglary, criminal threatening, reckless conduct, felon in possession of a deadly weapon and falsifying physical evidence.

Candelario, whose parole officer put a 72 hour hold on him, was arraigned on felony charges of armed robbery, burglary, felon in possession of a deadly weapon, armed career criminal and falsifying physical evidence. He pleaded innocent to a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest.

Bail conditions for both men prohibit contact with Santos, the Kostopoulos brothers and their co defendant. Probable cause hearings on the felony charges for both men were set for June 11. The trial for Candelario on the misdemeanor charge was set for July 3.

2014-Aug-22 20:21 - Failed pool inspections

Failed pool Vinnie Sunseri Jersey inspections

It's hot out, and the water looks inviting, but there can be a lot of bacteria lurking in the pool."Think about where bacteria and most organisms are going to grow," Dr. David Rentz, with Novant Health, said. "It's going to be a hot, wet environment. So, a pool is a perfect place for that."Rentz told Eyewitness News that's why chlorine is so important"It actually breaks up the cell walls of a lot of bacteria and viruses," Rentz said. "So, it will Khairi Fortt Jersey actually kill them off. And it's not just the chlorine level. It [has] to be at a certain PH to actually prevent growth and kill all these bacteria."For the general population, the infections picked up at a pool are more of a nuisance than anything. They can be treated with antibiotics, but for some people an unclean pool can be very dangerous."For someone who is immune compromised, any sort of infection could have dire consequences," Rentz said. That's part of the reason why pools have to be inspected, but Channel 9 went through hundreds of pages of inspections here in Mecklenburg County and found hotels and apartment buildings with serious issues, including inadequate chlorine. State law requires them to inspect year round pools twice a year and shut them down if they're deemed unsafe. They also correct critical water issues on site. And they see a lot of issues. In Uptown, an inspector measured zero chlorine at the Aloft hotel pool in January and saw mildew on the skimmers. At the nearby Omni, the chlorine was 60 percent below the required level last AugustSome hotels have repeat violations. At the Residence Inn on Piedmont Row, the inspector's report from October said the pool water was cloudy, and there was scum on the pool wall tiles. The inspector reported the same problems in March. The Homewood Suites on North Tryon had zero measured chlorine last June, and when the pool was inspected again in August, the chlorine was still below standards. In Huntersville: an inspector measured no chlorine at the Comfort Suites on Boulder Park in September and March. All of the pools were either temporarily shut down or forced to correct the issues on site.We also found inspection reports from high end apartments that had problems. The Hamptons at South Park has a pool that tested for 50 percent less chlorine Vinnie Sunseri Youth Jersey than required in January. Management there told Channel 9 it was corrected immediately and they take that very seriously.Eyewitness News contacted the corporate offices of the Charlotte and Huntersville hotels. The Omni said their most recent inspection in November was perfect. Eyewitness News checked, and it was. They also said their "certified engineering staff conduct testing of the pool maintenance on a regular basis." Management for the Residence Inn said, "The hotel is not being negligent we will not be in this position again." No one else would answer Channel 9's questions, but our team will check to see if their scores improve when inspectors come back.Response from Omni:"Our most recent inspection showed zero demerits. Our certified engineering staff conduct testing of the pool maintenance on a regular basis. We are looking forward to a great summer at the pool at Omni Charlotte Hotel."Response from McKibbon Hotel Management, the management company for the Residence Inn (Piedmont Row):"10/25/13 Inspection: What is not noted, is that the pool was closed down (by the hotel) early that morning before the inspector showed up. The team had noted when doing the pool inspection/chemical readings which is done every morning and afternoon, the pool was not to standard and naturally the high level of cloudiness confirmed such. The inspector however was still obliged to do the inspection but noted that when we were done remediating the pool cloudiness and residue issues, they would come back. The pool was back up and running that same day. A very small amount of white residue on the tiles was cleaned immediately and we determined this was bromine build up and not dirt.03/25/13 Inspection: The pool was not anywhere as cloudy as the 10/25 inspection and the chemical readings were all fine. The pool water was clear enough to see the drain per the requirements, but the screws on the drain were not clearly visible. The screws were not something we were looking at per se, but agreed that being able to see the screws on the drain is a critical component for safety inspections and agreed to find a way to ensure this was achieved. The hotel took water samples to Leslies Pools to get some advice and they suggested adding a Clarifier to the water which we started using and have since continued to use and the pool is clearer than ever and not the screws are clearly visible daily. I want to note that the chemical readings were all good. Again, the small amount of residue on the tiles was cleaned immediately and since we knew it was bromine, we replaced the bromine feeder to ensure this build up did not happen. The hotels engineering staff are pool certified and anytime an issue such as cloudiness and or chemical readings reflect any concern over our guests safety and wellbeing, we close the pool and remediate the issue right then. The team has got all the systems in place, the concerns addressed and the further attention to detail added. I can assure you the hotel is not being negligent and I am certain the inspectors will highlight the diligence of the team to ensure we comply fully with all requirements, for good reason. We have plans in place to ensure that all Khairi Fortt Kids Jersey items and not only bromine build up and cloudiness are complied with to ensure we have perfect inspections which are our standard. I can assure you we will not be in this position again."Action 9 HeadlinesMorris Jenkins turns to Action 9 to protect 50K customersAction 9: FDA looking into safety of spray sunscreenAction 9: Callers posing as lawyers to extort moneyAction 9: IRS may be withholding some tax payers' refunds MoreFrom Our News PartnersPhotos: Meg Ryan's former San Francisco Victorian for saleFormer telemarketer reveals how to stop sales calls for goodPhotos: Jennifer Lopez turns 45; see her through the yearsGiant flying bug with fangs discovered in ChinaWATCH: Kayaker's incredibly close encounter with humpback whaleAdvertisers and SponsorsAdvertise With UsCars at AutotraderLocal Services at KudzuCoupons at Valpak.
